WHAT IS THE JAMES BAY JOB CLUB?

Image Source: City of Victoria Neighborhoods

The James Bay Job Club is a volunteer group that is open to anyone who wishes to enter the labor market, get back into the workforce, or update their skills and broaden their network.

1. What do we do?

  • meet up weekly over coffee/breakfast

  • gather and share information

  • make connections

  • prepare or polish a c.v., portfolio, or resume and cover letter

  • practice interview and negotiation skills

2. What resources are available?

Through a community partnership network, we have access to:

  • computers, internet, and email

  • local phone service/messages

  • mail collection

  • a resource library

  • reduced costs for photocopying and faxing

  • audio-visual equipment if required.

3. Where and When do we meet?

Date: Monday mornings

Time: 8 am - 10 am

Venue: Ogden Point Cafe, (adjacent to the Ogden Point Breakwater and Cruiseship Terminal).

4. What does it cost?

Our services are based on the Musketeer Motto: "All for One and One For All" (or in today's lingo, "Pay It Forward").

For those who wish to drop by and see what we're all about, it's free.

And, for those wishing to make use of any club services, there is a modest fee to cover contributions/donations or equivalent volunteer time that we make available to our community partners.
